Hollywood Producer Releases "Must-Read" Book to Demystify Islam, Muhammad

Islam tends to be in the negative headlines frequently, the most recent example being Boko Haram's kidnapping of nearly 300 Nigerian schoolgirls. Tariq Jalil's book "Islam Plain and Simple" aims to set the record straight on the dynamic faith of 1.6 billion global followers, its principles and teachings, and just who Muhammad was.

Los Angeles, CA, May 12, 2014 --(PR.com)-- American Muslim Hollywood producer Tariq Jalil’s highly accessible and exhaustively researched “must-read” book on Islam, “Islam Plain and Simple: Women, Terrorism, and Other Controversial Topics,” is scheduled for release on May 15th.

Jalil’s book aims to set the record straight on the faith of 1.6 billion global followers, delves into the life and actions of Islam’s last prophet, Muhammad, and expands on the rich contributions to human civilization inspired by Islam.

"Islam Plain and Simple is the most concise, well-written, balanced, engaging, and accessible book on Islam that I have ever read. It provides an authentic insider's perspective on the religion practiced by one quarter of the world's population,” Jihad Turk, president of the Islamic graduate school Bayan Claremont in Southern California, said. “Jalil boldly tackles all of the hot-button and controversial issues related to Islam, but does so with an elegance of style that is clear and unambiguous without becoming apologetic or defensive. His concise biography of Islam's prophet captures the spirit of the man that Muslims so admire. This is a must-read for anyone who wants to better understand Islam."

Jafreen Uddin, Aslan Media’s book salon editor, added: "The second most popular religion in the world happens to also be the one many people know the least about. Tariq Jalil's primer to Islam sheds some necessary light on a faith that is often mired in misconceptions and inaccurate perceptions, using clear prose and an accessible tone to educate and enlighten non-Muslims and Muslims alike."

Islam Plain and Simple has also been endorsed by Dr. Eboo Patel, Adviser to the White House; Dr. Reza Aslan, author of the international bestseller No god but God; and Professor Michael Morony, UCLA, History Department, Islamic Studies Program Chair.

“I wrote this book to provide fellow Americans a window into the heart of Islam according to its original texts,” Jalil said. “I’d love to encourage a dialogue and hope "Islam Plain and Simple" will provide a better understanding of the religion and the people who follow it.”

The book is also available on the website www.islamplainandsimple.com as well as on Amazon, Nook, iPad and Kindle.
