Monroe, NC, May 13, 2014 --(PR.com
)-- Janelle Mullis never expected to reach these heights. A single mother of 2 and the promotional director for the World Poker Tour Amateur Poker League (WPTAPL), Western NC region, and a resident of Matthews, Mullis never imagined making it to the final table of the World Poker Tour Amateur Championship, which were held in Las Vegas from April 28th-30th. After the first day of play, Mullis finished 36th of 278 players. By the end of the tournament, Mullis was at the last table and finished 9th out of 10 players.
"I just played in the tournament like I always have played back home. Cool, calm and collected," stated Mullis. "I was a bit nervous, but at the same time, I enjoyed myself and was proud to have represented my region with confidence."
Since her return from Las Vegas, Mullis has been contacted by companies seeking to make an endorsement deal with her and represent them.
Mullis will be hosting poker games this coming Monday night, May 12th at 7pm at Steamers in Charlotte and Thursday night at Russell's in Charlotte.
