Special Screening "In The Footsteps of Willie Sutton"

Guest Film Introduction by SYFY "Face Off" Finalist, Derek Garcia and Q & A Session with Filmmaker Rich Gold

Boca Raton, FL, May 14, 2014 --(PR.com)-- DocMiami Film Festival in Partnership with the Willow Theatre will present a Special Screening of, "In The Footsteps of Williw Sutton," a documentary film which chronicles, the criminal career of Willie Sutton, aka “Slick Willie” aka Willie “The Actor” aka “The Gentleman Bandit” aka “The Babe Ruth of bank robbers,” which spanned over four decades, from the early 1920s into the early 1950s. America's most famous bank robber of the twentieth century doesn't fancy prison accommodations. When he gets caught and confined, he escapes - three times. The film takes us through each of these three prisons today and walks us through his masterful escapes. Award-winning filmmaker Rich Gold will present his film In The Footsteps of Willie Sutton accompanied by Derek Garcia, SyFy channel's Season 3 finalist of the reality show "Face Off." The evening will begin with a Special Guest Host film introduction by Derek Garcia, whom has worked as a profesional make-up artist at Horror Nights at Europa Park in Germany, and on Commercials and TV shows filmed in Miami like "Burn Notice," "The Glades," and "Graceland." Derek and his twin brother Eric Garcia were also contestants in the SyFy channel's hit reality Makeup FX competition series Face Off season 3 where Derek was a finalist.

Fueled with a fascination for true crime films, Producer/Director, Rich Gold, wrote his first screenplay, "Gallo," based on the true story of mobster Joey Gallo. Midway working on his second screenplay, "The Gentleman Bandit," about bank robber Willie Sutton, Rich felt compelled to try his hand at producing his documentary film about Sutton. Audience members can also look forward to a filmmaker Q & A Session after the film.
