Raleigh, NC, October 13, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Darron Stover, an investment advisory representative with FSC Securities, specializing in socially responsible investing, announces his return from Mississippi after a weeklong project, part of the ongoing Hurricane Katrina relief effort. Stover participated as a part of Second Spring, a partnership of Heritage United Methodist Church of D’Iberville, Miss. and the Raleigh District of The United Methodist Church (www.SecondSpring.org).

“My professional service involves helping clients make a difference in the world through socially conscious investment decisions; and I feel a responsibility to live out these same principles,” says Stover. “There are so many things we can do in our lives that will better the lives of others and the world we live in, including volunteering.”

The team worked, framing, sheet rocking walls and ceilings, laying insulation in the attic, painting, reinforcing floors and installing a bathroom, primarily on a home in Gulfport, Miss.

"The number of vacant buildings and empty foundations of demolished homes is just staggering, and there is almost no small business anywhere to be found,” adds Stover. “Traveling around the coastline of Biloxi and Gulfport, I was astonished by the lack of progress that has been made since Katrina hit almost two years ago.”
