Mt. Airy, GA, May 18, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Known for its fresh and tasty chicken with no antibiotics, Springer Mountain Farms has risen to the top of the poultry industry again with its latest achievements. It has just received the SQF Level 3 certification, the highest recognition for food safety and quality management, and its USDA-certified lab has received the ISO-17025:2005 accreditation, the most rigorous testing measurement for lab testing facilities.

"As Springer Mountain Farms continues to grow, we always institute the latest health and safety practices so our customers can be confident that they are getting the healthiest and best-tasting product,” said President Gus Arrendale. “From the on-site lab-tested vegetarian diet fed to our chickens, to our thorough inspection process and American Humane Certified practices, no other poultry producer goes to the lengths we do to ensure a safe, nutritious and top quality product so our customers stay healthy and satisfied.”

All of Springer Mountain Farms’ three facilities have earned the SQF Level 3 certification, a standard that recognizes suppliers that have implemented a HACCP food quality and safety plan. According to rules established by the International Organization for Standardization, the USDA-certified lab also underwent vigorous testing to achieve the ISO-17025:2005 certification, including multiple point inspections, feed sampling and third-party verification.

Always an industry leader, Springer Mountain Farms has other pace-setting certifications, as well, including being the first poultry producer to become certified by the American Humane Association and the first non-government owned poultry lab to be USDA certified to test for pesticide residue. Arrendale also received the American Humane Association’s Humanitarian Award in 2013 for the company’s humane treatment of its chickens.
