TVS Global Media to Televise Roller Derby on TVS Sports Network

The legendary San Francisco Bay Bombers will be featured in the return of classic roller derby to broadcast TV, cable networks, and IPTV networks.

California City, CA, May 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- TVS Global Media, the fourth oldest commercial broadcast TV network in the USA, has pacted with the San Francisco Bay Bombers and their American Roller Derby League to televise games.

TVS, which was founded in 1960 and has televised thousands of college basketball, college football, pro football, bowling, tennis, and other national sports. The roller derby has been a staple of television since the Dumont Network signed on in 1947. The San Francisco Bay Bombers are perhaps the most iconic of all of the roller derby teams over the nearly 70 year history of the sport.

"We are very excited to be joined by the TVS Television Network in the return of the roller derby to national TV," said San Francisco Bay Bombers General Manager Jim Fitzpatrick. "Both Roller Derby and TVS share a history of fierce independence and the association should be a great one for not only the roller derby and TVS, but roller derby fans everywhere."

The first telecasts will take place in July and August when the San Francisco Bay Bombers host the Los Angeles Firebirds. One of the games will see the roller derby return to the iconic Kezar Auditorium in San Francisco, home of hundreds of roller derby classic matches over seven decades.

TVS Sports Network will present Roller Derby on a monthly basis on broadcast syndication and cable networks. Roller Derby joins IWA Wrestling, LPBT Bowling, WFL Football, and NASL Soccer as leagues that TVS has worked with to bring their games to national TV.
