Samurai Karate Studio Donates Used Cell Phones to Sister Care

Columbia, SC, May 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Sensei Chris Feldt, owner and chief instructor for Samurai Karate Studio, located in Richland Northeast Columbia, South Carolina recently announced his school donated used cell phones to Sister Care, a local shelter that helps provide services for victims of domestic violence.

"South Carolina ranks 6th in the nation in domestic violence and Sister Care is a wonderful non profit that helps victims of domestic abuse," commented Sensei Feldt. "Sister Care takes the old cell phones and provides clients with a phone and cell service for those truly in need so that they can schedule services, or more importantly, call for help if in danger."

Community service is an important part of the curriculum at Samurai Karate Studio and is required as part of rank advancement.

"Donating used cell phones is such a great project," stated Feldt, "because we are helping a woman in need, as well as doing something good for the environment. Most old cell phones just end up in landfills polluting our environment."

Samurai Karate Studio teaches karate to children and adults, beginning at age 4 and up. It's curriculum includes self defense training, as well as character and leadership development.
