)-- Magical Dreams Productions Pvt. Ltd. has kick started the production of their film Jaayne Kyun in full swing. The first leg of the film is getting shot in Punjab. The movie stars Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das in the lead and is a true-life story of a family’s survival on the night of October 31st, 1984.
Writer and Producer Harry Sachdeva conceptualized the plot of the film and decided to bring it on the big screen under the direction of National award winner Shivaji Lotan Patil.
Speaking on the occasion Harry Sachdeva said, “The story is very close to my heart as my father has many a times narrated it and he was an eye witness to that painful night. I always aspired to make a film on this subject so this had to be my first Bollywood film as a writer and producer.”
“The story itself is the hero of the film and the aim is to reach the masses with the right message and depict the story as realistically as possible. I am glad to make this film under the banner of my home production Magical Dreams and it is a wonderful experience to work with such a talented team,” he added.
“The story of the film is very touching and every character has an important role to play. The scenes are very well thought and authenticate what happened on the night of October 31st, 1984. It is like revisiting history and portraying it through the scenes. The inspiration behind the story is the producer and when the story was shared with me, I could imagine as to how will I represent it in the film. The story will definitely touch every individual’s heart as it not only speaks of the tragic night but also depicts how friendship prevailed over brutality,” expressed the National award winning director, Shivaji Lotan Patil.
“When the script was narrated to me, I was touched and took no time to sign the film. The role I play is challenging and the character goes through a mayhem in the fight for survival for her family,” says Soha Ali Khan, the lead protagonist in the film, who has been appreciated for her versatile roles in films like Sahib Biwi aur Gangster, Mr. Joe B Carvalho, Rang De Basanti, etc
Vir Das, the stand-up comedian turned actor, who is known for his roles in Delhi Belly, Go Goa Gone and Revolver Rani says his role in this film is entirely different than what he has done before and will be seen sporting a turban in the film. “The audience will witness me in a completely new look, playing a character who goes through a serious dilemma between losing his life and his family. I am completely absorbed in my character and so far it has been a very learning experience working with the team of Magical Dreams.”
