Santa Clarita Rotary Club to Host Dr. Marc Benard of Baja Crippled Children's Project

The two Rotary Clubs in Santa Clarita, California will have a joint meeting on November 7, 2007 to host Dr. Marc Benard, leader of the Baja, Mexico Crippled Children's Project.

Santa Clarita, CA, October 18, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Sunrise Santa Clarita Rotary Club, along with the Santa Clarita Noon Rotary Club, will be hosting a speaking engagement given by Dr. Marc Benard on November 7, 2007. Dr. Benard, also a Rotarian in the South Bay area, is a podiatrist who has devoted his life to helping children in Mexico and now in El Salvador.

Dr. Benard and his team travel each month to the Red Cross Hospital in Mexicali, Mexico to do surgeries and treat children with congenital neuromuscular deformities, clubfoot, cerebral palsy, and other paralyzing afflictions of the lower extremities.

He has written several books on pediatric podiatry and has been published in a variety of medical journals, including the American Journal of Podiatry.

The Rotary Club welcomes anyone with an interest in this topic to join them for the meeting. The Rotary Club will be volunteering and supporting Dr. Benard's medical efforts as part of their commitment to international service.
