Channel Islands Harbor Announces 17th Annual Fireworks by the Sea

Oxnard, CA, June 19, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Channel Islands Harbor celebrates the 4th of July with a full day of family activities. Fireworks display begins at 9 p.m., but there is plenty to do before then. Marine Emporium Landing will have activities between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m., including a crafters’ market and live music, petting zoo, inflatable fun zone, a rock climbing wall and food booths. The annual Children’s 4th of July Parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. and proceeds from Albacore Way up Harbor Blvd. to Cabezone Circle. A 10K and 5K fun run/walk begins at 8 a.m. along Sunset Lane, Hollywood Beach, registration begins at 7 a.m.

Channel Islands Harbor serves as a center of recreation, boating, shopping and water sports activities. The harbor is home to three yacht clubs and nine full-service marinas that provide berths for 2,150 boats. It also hosts the Channel Islands Boating Center, located at 3800 Bluefin Circle. The center provides educational and recreational opportunities for CSUCI students, Ventura County residents and the general public. The facility includes classrooms, a conference room, showers and lockers, and both indoor and outdoor boat storage. The Channel Islands Maritime Museum is also located at the Harbor on 3900 Bluefin Circle.
