TAG Names John Borden Vice President, Programs and Technologies

John Borden has been promoted from Product Director, GNSS Systems to Vice President, Programs and Technologies.

Dulles, VA, July 11, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Technology Advancement Group®, Inc. (TAG®) appointed John Borden to the new position of Vice President of Programs and Technologies. Mr. Borden was hired in September 2013 as Product Director, GNSS Systems when TAG was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Army Geospatial Center (AGC) to provide a Precise Positioning Service (PPS) Global Positioning System Survey (GPS-S) solution with spoofing and jamming protection for use by Army survey and design teams to perform precision surveys. Mr. Borden’s appointment was effective July 1st.

“Over the past months John has done an excellent job managing the AGC program and its ever-changing requirements,” said Jim McEwan, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). “More importantly, John has voluntarily contributed to a vast array of operational projects here at TAG.”

Prior to joining TAG, Mr. Borden was Director of Business Development at NAVSYS Corporation, responsible for strategy, marketing, and technical sales leadership for advanced military and commercial GPS/INS solutions. Mr. Borden brings the experience of a wide-ranging career that has included managing network operations at the Office of Naval Research (ONR), managing an Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD) for DoD to provide information sharing tools to military and civilian first responders, founding a satellite communications company, and managing the development and flight of a physics experiment on the Space Shuttle.

Since graduating from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 1980, Mr. Borden has continued his education throughout his professional career with courses in project management, proposal management, business development, Federal contract management, and technology transition. Additionally, Mr. Borden received certifications from the Project Management Institute, Association of Proposal Management Professionals, and FEMA Emergency Management Institute. He is a recipient of SBA’s Tibbetts Award and a NASA Space Act Award for his work in oceanographic data collection under the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program and is published in diverse topics including homeland security, satellite communications, and oceanography.
