Palacios to Promote and Headline September 20 in Orlando

Former two time world title challenger and top rated cruiserweight Francisco “Wizard” Palacios makes his long-awaited return to the ring Saturday, September 20 but in a different role than the average fighter.

Orlando, FL, July 18, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Former two time world title challenger and top rated cruiserweight Francisco “Wizard” Palacios makes his long-awaited return to the ring Saturday, September 20 but in a different role than the average fighter.

Tired of empty promises along with fights falling apart, Palacios founded World Wide Elite Entertainment last month and is playing the role of main event fighter as well as promoter of “The Comeback.”

This special fight card takes place at the elegant Mela Room, located at 9677 S. Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando 25 dollar general admission, $45 ringside and $500 VIP tables of 6 with bottle service included are on sale by calling 561-702-7068. All ticketholders over the age of 21 are invited to a special post-fight party at the Mela Room hosted by DJ Eric.

Palacios has an excellent 21-2 record with 13 victories coming by way of knockout. The Orlando based Puerto Rican holds knockout victories over fellow title contenders Louis Azille and Luis Pineda but was on the wrong end of two controversial decisions in the home country of WBC champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk. Unfortunately, promotional and managerial issues kept him out of the ring since September 2012.

His opponent will be announced shortly.

In the co-main event, contender Rowland Bryant of Almonte Springs, FL battles an opponent to be named. Bryant, 18-3 (12 KO’s), scored a massive upset a few years back, knocking out iron-chinned Librado Andrade inside of three rounds. A victory on the 20th could move him back into contention.

In separate undercard bouts, world title challenger Mike Marrone, Contender Season 4 Alum Alfredo Escalera Jr. and 2008 Cuban Olympian Idel Torriente will all face opponents TBA.

“This is a new venture for me and something that I need at this point in my career,” said Palacios. “I fought twice for a world title and won my first 20 pro fights, only to have politics put me on the sidelines. As a promoter, I’m not only going to get myself back in the title picture but also assist other fighters that were mistreated in the past.
