Pettigrew & Associates Announces Two New Certified Floodplain Managers

Claudius Sanchez Czyzewska and Jonathan Carey earn Certified Floodplain Manager Certifications.

Hobbs, NM, July 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Debra Hicks, PE/PSI, Chief Executive Officer of Pettigrew & Associates, P.A., recently announced that two engineering team members completed the process, evaluation and examination to become Certified Floodplain Managers. Claudius Sanchez Czyzewska, EI and Jonathan Carey, EI received their certifications on July 1, 2014, increasing the total number of Certified Floodplain Managers at Pettigrew & Associates to four. In passing the CFM® exam, Mr. Sanchez Czyzewska and Mr. Carey proved their knowledge of floodplain management, including topics such as the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), community responsibilities, floodplain mapping, flood hazard mitigation and natural and beneficial functions. The primary goal of the New Mexico CFM® Program is to help reduce flood losses in the state of New Mexico and protect and enhance the natural resources and functions of its floodplains by improving the knowledge and abilities of floodplain managers in the United States.

Claudius Sanchez Czyzewska, EI, returned to Pettigrew in 2013 after taking time off to complete his Master of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in foundations. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University and is pursuing his professional engineering license. Mr. Sanchez Czyzewska lives in Hobbs, NM with his wife Erica and two-month old daughter Klaudia. Jonathan Carey, EI, first interned with Pettigrew during the summer of 2011 and joined Pettigrew & Associates in January 2013 full time. Mr. Carey holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University and is also pursuing his professional engineering license. Mr. Carey lives in Hobbs, NM with his wife Sarah.
