Spheres, a new facebook canvas app, generates artful, iconic images of users' personalities for sharing on facebook and other social media.
Houston, TX, July 22, 2014 --(PR.com)-- A new facebook app, called Spheres, that creates an image of the user's personality along six dimensions, went online July 19, 2014. Developers Eric Olson and Valery Kuzniatsou chose personality traits for Spheres they believe people will want to share through social media.
Many of the trait dimensions in the images Spheres generates, like Outgoing-Shy or Rebellious-Conformist, correspond to personality traits studied by personality theories and tests. The developers chose other traits, however, like Centered-Discontent, to appeal to people who want to share images of their personalities on popular online social sites. Spheres images depict users' traits on these polar dimensions:

Outgoing - Shy
Practical - Cerebral
Daring - Cautious
Impulsive - Controlled
Rebellious - Conformist
Spheres is easy to use. Users simply rate themselves on each of the six personality dimensions. For each trait, the app provides guidelines and examples. Spheres is, however, not a personality test, as the developers point out. The app is intended to give users a way of expressing things about themselves through a graphic that they know but find difficult to express in words.
