C.P. Murphy resides in West Seneca, New York, a suburb of Buffalo. Though Amelia’s Story is fictional, it was inspired by a girl’s fate that was not so different from Amelia’s. All through C.P. Murphy’s youth, she heard stories of a young girl who was killed in her hometown in the year 1813. Instead of repeating the story as she’d heard it, the author created a story line to keep readers turning the pages.
