Samurai Karate Studio to Introduce New Character Development Program

Columbia, SC, August 05, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Sensei Chris Feldt, owner and chief instructor for Samurai Karate Studio, located in Richland Northeast Columbia, South Carolina, recently announced his school is introducing a new character development program that will help reinforce black belt character principles outside the dojo at home, school or church.

Sensei Feldt described the new program, "We are calling it our Black Belt Excellence program and all students, regardless of their age, can participate. When students demonstrate acts of black belt excellence or leadership, their parents or spouse can write a note on our black belt excellence board. At the end of each class, I will review the board and call out that student and give them a Black Belt Excellence card for recognition."

This character development program will help reinforce the character traits that are expected of SKS students and are an integral part of the karate curriculum. In addition to the Black Belt Excellence program, SKS encourages students to participate in project based leadership, by serving the community through volunteer work, fundraisers and donations.

"The idea is for students to take what they learn in the dojo and practice it in the outside world," commented Feldt, "This new program will help the parents recognize the changes in their son or daughter as a result of their martial arts training and reward the student for behaving like a black belt."
