HGTV’S Former Design Star Kevin Grace to Serve as Emcee for Compass to Care Childhood Cancer Foundation’s Fashion Show 2014

Chicago, IL, August 17, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Kevin Grace, former cast member of HGTV’s Design Star Season 6, will serve as the emcee for Compass to Care Childhood Cancer Foundation’s Fashion Show 2014 being held Saturday, September 13, at The Ballroom in Chicago. The organization’s third annual fashion show features Members of the Chicago Police Department who will walk the runway to raise money to help children travel for cancer treatment.

Kevin Grace has always marched to the beat of his own drum. As a boy, “Bob Villa’s, This Old House” mesmerized him and sparked a lifelong passion for transforming spaces. Born and bred in Chicago, his unique design reflects a love of color, fashion, and pop culture. Grace honed his design skills creating windows at the iconic Marshall Field’s on State Street. It was the beginning of a 20+ year career that straddled both fashion and design.

Life suddenly changed for Grace after being cast on HGTV’s Design Star Season 6. This opportunity to show the world his distinct vision affirmed the decision to pursue a creative path. Directly following his 2011 on-air debut, Grace launched his brand/business—Kevin Grace Design. The phenomenal success in both retail and residential design that followed are the result of his core mantra.

“Always be aware of your client’s needs, but never be afraid to push comfort zones and open doors to fresh ideas. Ultimately, stay true to your design soul.” —KG

Grace’s re-occurring segment on ABC’s Windy City Live “Kevin Grace, Save my Space” was the ultimate expression of his way of giving back to those in need. He has now joined the production team for the Steve Harvey Show as a Set Designer.

“Compass to Care’s Fashion Show 2014 is the biggest event we will host this year to raise funds for children who must travel for cancer treatment. We want it to be a fun and exciting night for all of our guests. Adding Kevin Grace’s electric energy, and impeccable sense of style, to the excitement of having Members of the Chicago Police Department working the runway as our models will certainly make it a night to remember,” commented Compass to Care Founder, Michelle Ernsdorff. “We are so honored to have Kevin joining us for this special night to help save the lives of these kids by helping them travel to the hospital for cancer care.”
