Wilf Campus to Launch "Wilf at Home" In-Home Care Service for New Jersey Seniors

Somerset, NJ, August 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Oscar and Ella Wilf Campus for Senior Living is preparing to launch Wilf at Home, a new agency that will provide in-home care services for people in central New Jersey. Wilf at Home will be available to seniors and their families in the Somerset and northern Middlesex County areas starting Fall 2014.

Wilf at Home’s mission is to help older adults to age in place safely and independently. Mature adults will have access to a superior network of guidance and support that will enable them to have their personal needs met in the safety, security and enjoyment of their own homes.

The Wilf at Home program includes a suite of discounted services including home care, home repair, Personal Emergency Response Systems, prescription drug delivery, online grocery delivery and access to transportation.

Members will have their own Community Concierge who, while developing a personal, one-on-one relationship, can help detail the broad spectrum of services available through the program and will also be available to the member if emergencies should arise and advice or assistance is sought.

Members will also have access to health and wellness and socialization opportunities through Wilf Campus’ popular Educational Series that has presented such topics as healthy and nutritional choices for diets, car safety tips, skills to strengthen memory and more.

Wilf at Home Executive Director, David Rosenberg, MSW, MBA, notes two services provided by the new Wilf at Home program that every senior aging at home can benefit from - a free home safety assessment to protect against potential falls and hazards to ensure seniors can navigate their home with ease; and a ‘brown bag’ medication review with a certified nurse that assesses the safety of medications to ensure there are no drug interactions, the dosages prescribed are correct, and that there is a solid schedule for taking medications on time.

Additional services that are exclusive to Wilf at Home members include:
• Online grocery delivery to home
• Handyman/home modifications
• Assistance from a homecare aide for daily tasks (cooking, laundry, etc.)
• Personal Emergency Response System (a pendant you wear that you can press to call for help if you fall, feel sick, or you are in trouble or a cell phone programmed with a special button to push)
• Prescription drug delivery to the home
• Assistance with coordinating door-to-door transportation to local programs, stores, and appointments, and
• Help organizing paperwork and bills through a Daily Money Manager

“These offerings are all things that can impact your life so that you can live independently and stay at home. We coordinate all of these services together for you and will continue to partner with other programs and organizations as our Members needs grow and change. We are dedicated to tailoring Wilf at Home to our Members’ personalized needs,” said Mr. Rosenberg. “We will also have a list of vendors that will be pre-examined so that members will have a trusted source of go-to professionals for different services,” he added.

Wilf at Home also recognizes that in many cases it is the adult children who will arrange care for their aging parents who want to meet their goal of aging in their own home. Often, adult children do not live near their parents and may also be working full time and/or taking care of children full time, which adds to the difficulties of tending to the growing needs of their aging parents. Wilf at Home is designed to help adult children help their parents remain in their homes while providing everyone with peace of mind. Wilf at Home is also designed to help older adults remain safely and comfortably in their homes and not feel as though they are overly dependent upon their adult children. It is truly a win-win for families.

Susan Harris, Wilf Campus CEO said, “Wherever you call home, we are there to meet your goal of staying there!” We are so pleased to be launching Wilf at Home. This new agency is part of the Wilf Campus’ strategic plan to offer our services beyond the walls of our campus to seniors living in our community."
