About The Author:
Linda Naomi Katz, born on March 21, 1969, was raised as a modern orthodox Jew, in which mental illness became a factor early in life. Her mother suffered from a breakdown and had depression which became difficult for the entire family. As Linda was growing up, she found herself with a breakdown in her early 20's and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Being a modern orthodox Jewish woman, Linda soon discovered how biased and stigmatized her community was towards mental illness. Since then, she has advocating and helped others towards improving their mental health. She has received several awards with the publication of her book. Today, she is married, a college graduate, and continues her work as a mental health peer advocate.
