Franklin, PA, October 27, 2007 --(PR.com
)-- Visceral Films Corporation has optioned the work of Los Angeles-based writer Eric Rogers.
Transylvania Red is a horror-comedy about a man who receives help from his past when his tour group is attacked by vampires at a Transylvanian vineyard, and can be described as "Sideways meets An American Werewolf in London". The script works on multiple levels- it's smart and funny, true horror (without being "over-the-top") and has a warm story about a father and son relationship. The project will truly reach all spaces of the major theater-going demographic.
Sex Tape (working title) is a romantic comedy about a young man's quest to become the perfect lover leads to him finding his perfect love and can be best described as "High Fidelity meets Better Off Dead".
Both films are planned to be shot in Western Pennsylvania in 2008, employing the talents of the local burgeoning film industry.
"We are thrilled to work with Eric. It is rare to find such a talented writer with a dead-on comedic sense" says Scott Wohlstein, Managing Partner, Visceral Films. A produced TV writer for programs such as Futurama and NYPD Blue, in addition to serving as a script writer for Matt Groening’s Bongo Comics Group (The Simpsons Comics and Futurama Comics), Rogers couldn’t be happier working with the Visceral Films team. "Scott Wohlstein is a talented, passionate, and hard-working director and producer who ‘gets’ what these stories are on the page, and what kind of films they will be on the screen. I can’t wait to see where this partnership takes us.”
Visceral Films representatives will be attending the American Film Market (October 31 through November 7, Santa Monica, CA), to meet distributors, agents, and financiers.
