International Year of Light - Kickoff Celebration, with Artwork by Rouch and Other Space Artists

International Association of Astronomical Artists, a non-profit organization, presents an “International Year of Light” Gala on Friday, November 14th, 2014 at 6PM - 8PM, location: Tucson City Council, 3202 E. First Street, Tucson, AZ 85716.

Tucson, AZ, September 13, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The International Association of Astronomical Artists (IAAA), a non-profit organization, is conducting a workshop this year in Tucson, Arizona from November 11th – 14th, 2014. IAAA Artist members attending the event include: Marilynn Flynn, Dr. William Hartmann, Julie Jones, Dr. James Keane, Simon Kregar, Pamela Lee, Sean Parker, Michelle Rouch, Jim Scotti, Reid Silvern, Aldo Spadoni, Rick Sternbach, and Matthew Stricker.

Tucson City Council member, Steve Kozachik is hosting the IAAA Artists Gala “International Year of Light” Kickoff Ceremony on Friday, 14 November 2014 from 6PM to 8PM. The exhibition area will be in the City Council Ward 6, located at 3202 E. First Street Tucson, AZ. The event is open to the public.

Next year marks the International Year of Light, an observance by the United Nations intended to bring attention to the achievements of light science and its applications, and its importance to humankind. IAAA aims to focus on the importance of Cosmic Light, reaching beyond life on Earth.

IAAA members implement and participate in astronomical and space art to promote education about space. They foster international cooperation with other artists world-wide in order to gain inspiration though paintings and the exploration of themes of the Universe.
