GT-SAT Starts Production of the Digital LNB dLNB; the LNB is to be Shown on the Occasion of IBC Amsterdam

The pilot run for the world's first digital ODU on a Chip has been successfully executed. GT-SAT, a leader in LNB manufacturing, introduced the state-of-the-art technology LNB, called dLNB, in Spring 2014.

Luxembourg, Germany, September 12, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The digital System-on-Chip solution shifts analogue switching technology on a chip. It incorporates a fully programmable User Band configuration and two working modes, a static and dynamic one. The static one is equivalent to SMATV head-end stations or stacked LNBs, whereas the dynamic is equivalent to SCR LNBs controlled by EN50494 or EN50607. Additionally it supports a terrestrial input, which feeds the terrestrial frequencies into the system.

The dLNB is supported amongst others by GT-SAT's dHello standard, realizing auto detection of units. That paves the way for a fully automatic installation without any need of installer’s interaction.

TThe main benefit of digital LNBs is the support of a high number of User Bands. The dLNB supports in dynamic mode up to 24 UBs, which is a dramatic cost- cutter compared to the current installation mode.
