International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA) Hosts Americas Regional Conference in White Plains, New York, October 26­-28, 2014

The International Ultraviolet Association is hosting the Americas Regional Conference in White Plains, New York, October 26­28, 2014. Keynote Presenters are Marvin DeVries, President of Trojan Technologies and Paul Rush, Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection, New York City.

Washington, DC, September 18, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The IUVA Americas Regional Conference brings together UV scientists, engineers and industry leaders at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in White Plains, New York from October 26-28, 2014 to discuss ultraviolet technology applications in a variety of settings. Two prominent figures in UV will be keynote speakers for the event: Marvin R. DeVries, President of Trojan Technologies and Deputy Commissioner Paul V. Rush, of the New York City Department of Environment Protection (DEP).

On Monday, October 27, 2014 at 8:15 a.m., Marvin DeVries, President of Trojan Technologies, will give a keynote address that includes an overview of UV water disinfection technology facilities in the United States and the United Kingdom. DeVries has over 20 years experience in the UV industry and has been instrumental in developing the research team at Trojan Technologies, which sets aside 5% of revenues on research and product development.

Deputy Commissioner Paul V. Rush, will speak on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 8:15 a.m. He is one of the highest-ranking government officials responsible for developing and operating the Catskill/Delaware UV Facility, A UV disinfection facility impacting New York City’s water supply. Deputy Commissioner Rush will give more details about the Cat/Del UV Facility, a project that took over 10 years from inception to completion. Many of the conference participants will take the opportunity to tour the Cat/Del UV Disinfection Facility on October 28 or 29.

IUVA will host three intensive seminars at the conference. On October 27, from 10:45 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. “The Current and Future State of UV-LED Technology” will bring together those interested in this energy efficient UV technology. Another half-day seminar on “The State of Healthcare Associated Infections Workshop” will convene on October 28 from 8:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. The same afternoon, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. “Ultraviolet Disinfection for Wastewater – Low Dose Application Guidance for Secondary and Tertiary Effluent Workshop” will also take place. The Exhibition of UV products will be open during the conference.
