Race 13.1, a Premier Half Marathon Race Series, Marks Rapid Growth with Opening of Nashville, TN Office

Former SeaWorld Executive to Lead New Nashville, Tennessee Office

Raleigh, NC, September 27, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Race 13.1 is continuing to expand its reach during what has been a remarkable first year of operation. The half marathon series is opening an office in Nashville, Tennessee to assist with expansion of the series into a total of six states in 2015.

The new Nashville office will produce 10 to 15 races within a 300-mile radius in the coming years. In 2015, the Nashville office has plans to produce three races in Tennessee and several in surrounding states Alabama and Kentucky. In addition to the opening of the new office, Race 13.1 is marking its rapid growth with the recent hiring of Chris Brown as a Senior Vice President. Brown is a former executive with SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. He will direct sponsorship and partnership initiatives and lead the Nashville office.

“We have outpaced our expectations on virtually every front this year,” said John Kane, Founder and CEO, Race 13.1. “The strong growth we have experienced in such a short time is a result of the talented team we have assembled to date and confirms that our product is a valuable asset to our runners, sponsors, host cities, and charity partners.”

With an extensive background in sports marketing and business development, Brown’s previous accomplishments include helping to guide the Rock N’ Roll Marathon racing series through its most rapid period of growth prior to being acquired by Competitor Group.

“I have been fortunate in my career to work with a number of high quality businesses going through various phases of growth,” said Chris Brown, Sr. Vice President, Race 13.1. “I see a similar opportunity with Race 13.1 and am looking forward to being part of the evolution of what is already a successful organization.”

Each Race 13.1 event features activities and amenities before, during and after the races that cater to people of all fitness levels. Some of these include a 5k and 10k race within each event; a KidZone, featuring face painting, a bounce house and sign making stations to support a favorite runner; music; sponsor tents and vendors to interact with and visit; and a finish line party to celebrate with the runners.
