)-- Presto, the renowned brand in personalization industry, is the Merchandise Partner of the upcoming Bengali movie – Yoddha, starring Dev and Mimi Chakraborty. Tee-shirts, coffee mugs, keyrings and pens embossed and imprinted with the movie graphics are few of the merchandise that are used as a part of promotion.
Merchandising as a part of movie promotion is not an alien concept in Bollywood film industry, but it is for the first time that this idea has surfaced in Bengali Film Industry. Dev unveiled the collection of merchandise collection at South City Mall, along with the music director of the movie, Indradip Dasgupta and Savy. According to Dev, who is hailed as the superstar of Bengali movie, “Hoardings and posters are stereotypical ways of promoting a movie. There are far better ways of reaching to the audience, en masse and merchandising is certainly one of them.” He added, “Social media platforms have taken over marketing strategies which otherwise included press conference and personal interviews. However, we had been looking for an unorthodox and unique promotional and marketing strategy; this is how our creative team came up with the idea of merchandising the movie graphics.”
Indradip Dasgupta opined, “Merchandising is one of the best ways you can reach out to a huge section of audience, at a single time. We are glad that team of Yoddha has considered this concept, which otherwise had remained unexposed until recently.” On being asked about Presto, the Merchandising Partner of the movie, Indradip said, “Presto is second to none insofar personalized products are concerned. When our team came up with the idea of merchandising , we didn’t give it a second thought before approving.”
A historical-romance movie, Yoddha is produced by Shree Venkatesh Films and directed by Raj Chakraborty is slated for Durga Puja release, on 1st October, 2014.
