HAGA Releases Results of Adding Image to Product Description Page on Amazon.com

Carson City, NV, October 04, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Home and Garden America recently added an image to their existing text product description. This now better depicts the survival seed kit for a potential customer. Most product descriptions on Amazon.com are strictly made up of text, so the Company added an image to their product description of the survival seed kit to make it more appealing for people who are trying to get information about the product.

"The old saying that a picture is worth a thousand words, is even more true when it comes to describing our physical products so we wanted to make the product description on our page more graphic and easy to understand than the typical, text only Amazon descriptions. We felt that the old black and white text block of information becomes boring to try and read. We didn't want our customers to become bored and end up leaving our product page because of the time and effort they thought would be involved in going through all that information," said a company spokesperson.

"If an image is allowed in that space why would anyone want to use text instead of an image accompanied by text. Pictures convey much more than words alone so combining the written product description with images just makes a lot of sense to us. If you're trying to describe physical products, it is much easier to do it with words and an actual image than with words alone, and the image helps prevent misunderstandings," she added.

"The Company found that potential customers benefited from the clarity of presentation afforded by the newly added image. The image description added to our text product description increased viewer engagement by 33 seconds and added an additional .53% in sales," she said.

The Company will be running more tests of this type to try and improve sales numbers while giving the customer a better experience.
