Top PR Pros Headline #AllThingsSocial Oct. 28 at George Mason University: Harnessing the Power of Social Media

UN Foundation Vice President of Public Relations Aaron Sherinian headlines #AllThingsSocial career forum Oct. 28 at George Mason University. Sharing the podium are top PR professionals from H+K Strategies, Northrop Grumman, USAID and Share Our Strength. NBC's WRC-TV Anchor Angie Goff and GMU alumnus returns to campus to share insights on social media as global phenomena and expanding career opportunities. The event concludes with a unique "speed mentoring" Q&A session with students.

Fairfax, NC, October 24, 2014 --(PR.com)-- George Mason students will have the opportunity to engage with some of the nation's leading communication professionals during a special career forum October 28. #AllThingsSocial the fourth annual communication department symposium, will examine social media and integrated digital communication as a global phenomenon and opportunity for today’s graduates.

Aaron Sherinian, the United Nation Foundation’s vice president for communications and public relations, will present the keynote address, followed by a panel discussion by professionals in news, public relations, corporate communication, nonprofits and government. The agenda concludes with a speed mentoring session, during which panelists will rotate among smaller groups of students to answer questions. The panelists include:

The event is sponsored by the Insight Committee, a volunteer advisory board to the communication department comprised of experienced leaders in professional communication. The group, chaired by Tom Hoog, vice chair, Hill+Knowlton Strategies, annually sponsors an on-campus event to provide students access to and advice by leading professionals.

Symposium coordinator and Northrop Grumman’s Media Relations Director Mark Root said the forum will help students learn how to prepare to be meaningful players in a global, digital world. "Today’s social-mediated environment expands the communication job market well beyond local and national borders into global opportunities,” he said.

The forum is free to all Mason students and will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Dewberry Hall of the Johnson Center.
