Local Organizations Team Up to Donate $26,000 to Children Fighting Cancer and Autism in the Central Valley

Central California organizations work together to raise $26,000 donating proceeds of their fundraiser to the Children's Hospital of Central California that treat children diagnosed with cancer and the Carlos Vieira Foundation that helps needy families living with autism.

Livingston, CA, November 06, 2014 --(PR.com)-- A few more children and families will be able to rest easier at the Children’s Hospital of Central California due to the partnering of two local organizations. On September 20, 2014 the Carlos Vieira Foundation, a local charity in the California Valley, partnered with the California Portuguese Bloodless Bullfight Organization to host the 3rd annual bloodless bullfighting event. Patrons purchased tickets to attend, bought food and drink, enjoying a lovely night of sportsmanship under the stars. Everything, including the Stevinson Bullring, bullfighters, the bull owners, and the suicide squads all donated their time for the cause. Every penny went towards fighting cancer and children and families living with autism. The partnership raised over $26,000 on the event and is donating $10,000 of those dollars to the local Children’s Hospital of Central California Oncology Fund. The remaining monies raised will go directly to the Carlos Vieira Foundation’s Direct Help Grant Program that provides countless children in the community with medical necessities, educational tools, speech therapy and more who are living with Autism.

The Children’s Hospital correspondent responded to the gift,

“On behalf of Children’s Hospital and all the young patients who come through our doors every day for treatment, we would like to thank the California Portuguese Bloodless Bullfight Organization and the Carlos Vieira Foundation for their combined generous gift to the Children's Hospital Central California Oncology Fund. Their kindness exemplifies the philanthropic spirit that this Valley holds for our hospital. Because of their generosity, alongside other supporting members of the community, children are receiving the compassionate and expert care they deserve.”

When asked why the Foundation continues to raise money for these causes, Carlos Vieira, founder and President answered, “The children mean the world to this community. I have two of my own. Knowing that there is help out there through the Children’s Hospital for children fighting cancer, and the Carlos Vieira Foundation for families living with autism gives me piece of mind.”

The Children’s Hospital of Central California will be hosting a check release ceremony the week of November 10th. Additional information for media can be given by contacting the Carlos Vieira Foundation.
