The Black Honkeys Release New CD and Music Video

Clearwater, FL, November 12, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Black Honkeys, wildly popular Tampa Bay Area R&B, Funk, Soul and Rock and Roll band, recently released their new CD titled “And So On…” The CD release was also accompanied by the release of a new Music Video from the CD, titled “Icebreaker.”

Both releases were premiered before a crowd of over 700 at a sold-out red-carpet concert event at The Capitol Theater in Clearwater, Florida on October 5th, 2014.

The new 9-track CD is a mix of new original tunes and 2 covers, and includes the original song ‘Icebreaker” featured in their new music video. The CD was recorded at Bill Edward’s Big 3 Recording Studios in St. Petersburg and engineered and mastered by industry veteran and multiple award-winning engineer Jim “Pinky” Beeman.

The music video was shot on location over 3 days at the historic downtown St. Petersburg State Theater with over 100 local extras. The video was written and directed by Harry Greene, shot by director of photography Dan Bramm, and produced by Tara Lee Runkle.

According to Harry, “We had the best crew we could have asked for on this shoot - a great group of production professionals and local extras who all love the band. Everyone had a blast working on the video and I think it shows in the finished piece.”

“We were excited to collaborate with someone like Harry on this music video project,” says Phil Esposito, the bands lead singer “he brought his experience, vision and professional crew to create something magical for our song Icebreaker.”

The premiere event at the Capitol Theatre was a night to remember. After warming up with opening act A.J. Dee, and 2 other videos, the excited crowd was treated to the ‘Icebreaker’ video projected on the big screen and the response was overwhelming. As the video ended, the projection screen flew up to reveal The Black Honkeys playing on stage, and the audience was immediately on its feet, dancing in the aisles and balconies of the theater for the remainder of the entire show. Maleia Crews, the featured dancer in the video, made a guest appearance, dancing on stage during the band’s live version of “Icebreaker.”

“The energy could be felt from the minute the theater doors opened,” say Esposito, “We’ve been working close to a year on the CD and music video. So we were ready to share our hard work with our fans.” They weren’t disappointed, as ticket buyers received a 2 hour show and a complimentary special cover edition of “And So On….” “It exceeded our wildest expectations and we are not sure how we can top this,” says Esposito, “But we will!”

A full 2-hour DVD of the entire evening and concert, hosted by celebrity music journalist Lexi Lewis, will be available in the near future. “So even our fans who weren’t able to make the concert will be able to enjoy all the fun of this special evening too!” Esposito said.
