New York, NY, November 19, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Grammy award winning trombonist, composer, and arranger Doug Beavers, known primarily for his work with Eddie Palmieri and Spanish Harlem Orchestra launches his new fan funded project, Titanes del Trombón, on ArtistShare. The project shares his artistic vision and pays homage to greats of both jazz and Afro-Cuban idioms through the lens of varied Latin styles including mambo, guaguanco, bata, bossa nova, samba, and Latin jazz. The project will feature musicians that are at the forefront of these idioms today, including the Grammy Winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra founder Oscar Hernandez, premier Latin Jazz pianist Edsel Gomez, sought-after percussionist Luisito Quintero, prodigious bassist Luques Curtis, and more to be announced as the project progresses.

Beavers will be writing a collection of compositions and arrangements orchestrated for an expanded ensemble, including strings, French horns, and the like, to complete his vision.

Nine-time Grammy winner and salsa legend, Eddie Palmieri, helped to launch Beavers’ international musical career when he called him to transcribe and arrange the complete repertoire from Palmieri’s La Perfecta group of the 1960’s. Beavers went on to tour and record with Palmieri’s new group, La Perfecta II, as lead trombonist and arranger, winning him a Grammy for his work on the 2005 release Listen Here. Palmieri was also a part of the ArtistShare fan-funded Brian Lynch/Eddie Palmieri Project, Simpático, which won a Grammy Award in 2007.

Since then, Beavers has been recognized as one of today’s leading trombonist and arrangers. In addition to the Spanish Harlem Orchestra and Eddie Palmieri, he has worked with the, Rosemary Clooney, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Don Omar, Sheila E., Pete Escovedo, Mingus Big Band, Ruben Blades, Paul Simon, and countless others.

Participants in this project will be able to join Beavers on his journey inspired by a love for all styles of jazz and Afro-Cuban music. As the project progresses, Beavers will share with participants exclusive behind-the-scenes videos, audio clips, written journals, and interviews. Some premium offers include credit listing on the new recording, an invitation to the studio sessions as Beavers’ special guest, and VIP access to all performances for one year.
