Normal Gadgets, the cellphone-smartphone-tablet repair shop with repairs stores in Peoria & Bloomington, have teamed up with CDV/Neville House and South Side Mission/The New Promise House to accept gently used and broken cell phones as donations.

Peoria, IL, November 19, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Normal Gadgets is asking residents from Peoria, Bloomington and Normal to assist women and children affected by domestic violence by donating these items so that they may have accessible cell phones for 911 emergency calls. By donating to Normal Gadgets, Peorians & Twin City residents can provide safe accessible phones for those in need.

Beginning today, residents can donate their phones to either Normal Gadgets locations at:
Normal Gadgets – Bloomington, 2103 North Veterans Parkway, Suite 112, Bloomington, IL 61704 or,

Normal Gadgets - Peoria, 4700 N. University Street (Metro Centre), Suite 43, Peoria, IL 61614

“A 911 cell phone can mean the moments between life and death in a violent relationship,” said Angie Ballantini from Normal Gadgets. “Understanding that Normal Gadgets is in a unique position in being able to clean and repair donated cell phones, allows us the compassion to fix them up and get them to those in need. This is the 3rd year collecting old donated cell phones for the Neville House and our 1st for The New Promise House. Clearly there is a need for this service yearly and we are grateful to be able to assist those in need.”

Phones and components that cannot be refurbished are dismantled and responsibly recycled to reclaim materials.
