Center for Independent Living of Broward Opens Up Leadership Program in Broward County

Fort Lauderdale, FL, November 26, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Center for Independent Living of Broward (CILB) is accepting applications for the 2015 Leadership CILB program to offer a special leadership opportunity for individuals with disabilities.

As the first leadership program of its kind, nationwide, Leadership CILB sets out to create future advocates among the disability community. CILB will select 8 to 10 individuals with disabilities to participate in a 10-month program through which participants will commit to work on specific disciplines related to: transportation, healthcare, employment, cultural arts, economic development, education, housing, and government.

The Leadership CILB class:

- Learns the infrastructure of Broward County;
- Analyzes critical issues people with disabilities face within Broward County in an effort to solve them;
- Connects to top level Broward County officials; and
- Gains an intimate understanding of each discipline and challenges related to the world of disability.

Selected participants will join an elite network of former Leadership CILB advocates. Corporate sponsorships fund participants’ completion of this unique program.

Interested individuals can learn more about Leadership CILB and complete a program application at: http://www.cilbroward.org/leadership-CILB-program. Applications must be received by December 31, 2014.

The Leadership CILB program is managed by Jene Kapela Leadership Solutions, LLC.
