Atlas Galleries, Chicago’s Preeminent Fine Art Galleries to Celebrate the Holiday Season with a Bang

Atlas Galleries, Chicago’s most trusted Fine Art Galleries and Advisors, and the Magnificent Mile’s only enduring family-owned and operated company has been enjoying their 47th year of business on Chicago’s “Mag Mile” and has several not-to-miss events planned for their galleries to round out the year of 2014.

Chicago, IL, November 29, 2014 --(PR.com)-- For more than forty-seven years, Atlas Galleries has guided collectors, both large and small, in acquiring timeless pieces of fine art from around the world, from the past treasures of the Old Masters to the latest works created by some of today’s greatest artists.

Out of the past emerge fine etchings by Rembrandt, Durer, Renoir, and Whistler. Hanging next to these works, one will find today's masterpieces by contemporary world-class artists including Angel Botello, Jean-Claude Gaugy, Ruth Bloch, Chicago artist Michael Cheney, and Romero Britto.

This Saturday, December 6th Atlas Galleries will be welcoming globally recognized artist Mackenzie Thorpe to their gallery at 535 N. Michigan Avenue for a signing of his latest book entitled "Out of the Shadows," which is the first book written and designed by both Susan & Mackenzie Thorpe as a heart-warming journal of his life.

This book is filled with family photos, quotes from people Mackenzie finds inspirational, pictures of Mackenzie as a young boy, and his enduring artwork that continues to mean so much to his viewers around the world… the whole scope of human emotion is captured as only Mackenzie can do. Atlas Galleries will have the new books on hand to be personalized by the artist himself.

Serving collectors the world over, a stroll through either of Atlas Galleries' Michigan Avenue locations will reveal a treasure trove of art that links the past with the present. Upon entering the gallery, one is essentially taking a trip back through time – one might arrive as an interested pedestrian but given a few minutes or a few hours, one either emerges enlightened with a broader knowledge of over 500 years of fine art and history or emerges a fine art collector themselves – enjoying famous contemporary artists such as Michael Cheney traveling back through the decades and centuries of fine art to the likes of Rembrandt – an experience one might only be exposed to through a trip to a world-class museum.
