GL Announces Versatile IP WAN Emulators

GL Communications Inc., announced today enhancements to its broad line of IP WAN Emulators.

Gaithersburg, MD, December 03, 2014 --(PR.com)-- GL Communications Inc., announced today enhancements to its broad line of IP WAN Emulators. GL’s WAN emulator products provide validation and troubleshooting of networks and applications under a spectrum of real-world conditions with advanced multi-link emulation capabilities.

Speaking to the press, Mr. Jagdish Vadalia, a Senior Manager for product development of the company said, “Testing IP networks under realistic network conditions requires the simulation of impairments and other realistic network conditions expected on networks. There are also many enterprise-level applications designed to work on different networks such as enterprise networks, storage, cloud services, web services, ftp, audio/video streaming, and so on. Such applications also require testing with the real network conditions prior to live deployment.

“There are a number of ways to do this. A basic method is to use network simulation devices such as IP WAN Link Simulators. GL's WAN emulators are: One, IP Network Simulators named IPNetSIm™ with varying capacities and the other IP WAN Link Emulator named IPLinkSim™.”

He added, “IPNetSim™ is an IP network simulator that is used to test the performance of IP networks, and network-dependent applications by simulating impairments commonly found in IP networks, such as bandwidth constriction, congestion, packet jitter, packet delay, packet bit errors, packet loss and other conditions. It can be used to test IP end point devices such as Gateways, IADs, IP phones, Soft phones, and so on for voice, fax, data, or multimedia transmission over IP.

“IPLinkSim™ is an important and simple to use tool that simulates IP WAN links using a portable hardware based unit and with its easy-to-use GUI interface, one can begin testing within minutes.”

Some of the important WAN Emulator Features:
·Easy to Use - no software, plug and play
·Remote access via Ethernet management port
·Jumbo frames to test with Ethernet frames of up to 9 KB
· Unique Scheduler for modeling different error scenarios
· Traffic Monitor for visibility into traffic flow
·Unsurpassed precision in simulating link bandwidth with microseconds resolution
·Bridging or Routing modes for configuring as a bridge or router for easy integration with any test configuration
·Command Line Interface (CLI) for automated testing
·Copper and Fiber Gigabit Ethernet interfaces
