Hair and Beauty to Boxercise at WNSC

Oswestry, United Kingdom, December 11, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Walford and North Shropshire College (WNSC) Hair and Beauty student, Steph Jerrard, has recently completed her Boxercise Fitness Qualification. Steph is in her fifth year at the College having completed various spa, hair and beauty qualifications. During her time at WNSC, Steph has been an active student, participating in regular sport and fitness sessions as part of the College Sport Maker Project.

Steph has stepped up her responsibilities this year, volunteering and supporting the delivery of boxing and other fitness related sessions. Benji Evans, WNSC’s College Sport Maker, offered Steph the opportunity to enrol on a Boxercise Fitness Course and complete a Qualification which is recognised by the Register of Exercise Professional (REP).

Benji commented that "Steph has participated in most of the boxing sessions this year and I noticed that she has the qualities to become a very good instructor, I suggested to Steph that she should enrol on a Boxercise course. Steph attended and passed the course with flying colours and she now helps lead the sessions. As a College, we always want to support students to develop additional skills and prepare them for the world of work, Steph is a great example of someone who maybe lacked confidence when she first started attending sessions, but she has a thirst for knowledge and wants to succeed at whatever she does and is now leading sessions for other students."

Steph Jerrard said "Firstly, I want to say a big thank you to Benji and the College for their support and for giving me the opportunity to become a qualified Boxercise Instructor, I have always been interested in fitness and keeping fit and have become more confident in recent years. I enjoy volunteering and supporting the College Sport Maker with sport sessions and events; I aim to start delivering my own sessions out in the community, once I have gained a bit more experience." Steph added "I recommend to any student wishing to develop skills to get involved with college sport because it can help develop your CV and get a job in the future."
