WNSC A Level Students Attend Psychology Conference

Oswestry, United Kingdom, December 22, 2014 --(PR.com)-- A Level Psychology students from Walford and North Shropshire College (WNSC) enjoyed attending a Science and Pseudoscience conference held at Emirates Old Trafford events centre in Manchester.

Students were captivated by the lecture delivered by Dr Peter Lovatt, who is a principal lecturer and reader in Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire. Before embarking on an academic career Peter was a professional dancer; he shared some of his moves during his lecture as well as getting the whole audience of hundreds on their feet joining in. Peter runs the Dance Psychology Lab where his research examines the relationship between dance and thinking, health, hormones and human perception.

Professor Sophie Scott, Wellcome Trust Senior Fellow at University College London (UCL), stand-up comedian and cognitive neuroscientist also gave a lecture. She specialises in the neurobiology of human communication and gave a fascinating presentation on the science of laughter.

Students described the conference as ‘Great fun’ and an active way of bringing Psychology to life.
