New Directors Announced by Denver Architectural Foundation

The Denver Architectural Foundation (DAF) has elected Al Slattery and Joe Vostrejs to its Board of Directors

Denver, CO, December 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Al Slattery, Business Development Manager for Haselden Construction, is an active member in Denver’s architects, engineers and contractors community. Over the last 18 years Al has served on professional and educational boards, including AIA Colorado West Chapter and Council of Education Facility Planners International Rocky Mountain Chapter. At McGraw Hill, he led publication of the Colorado Construction and AIA Architect Colorado magazines. His background sets the stage for an active role with a focus on K-12 education and giving back philanthropically to the Denver community.

Joe Vostrejs, a founding partner with Larimer Associates, a real estate-based, investment, management and development group, has been involved in real estate and restaurant development in Denver since 1985. With a mission of creating places that genuinely improves communities, he knows the extraordinary importance of quality buildings to the community and the value of sustaining public appreciation for good architecture. Joe is also a partner in Union Station Alliance for the redevelopment of Denver’s historic Union Station and is Chairman-elect of the Downtown Denver Partnership.

DAF supports public appreciation and education for Denver’s architecture. DAF’s award-winning educational CAL Project brings architecture into Denver Public School classrooms. Over 6,000 DPS students have engaged in CAL’s six-week workshops, led by volunteer design professionals. Students learn, through hands-on projects, about the built environment outside their school. DAF annually presents Doors Open Denver, a free weekend event of guided and self-guided tours celebrating Denver’s classic and new buildings and spaces. Each month DAF extends Doors Open Denver through guided monthly Hard Hat Tours taking the public behind the façades of new major construction projects.
