Russian Railways Logistics Organized Delivery of 100-Meter Rails for Moscow Metro

Moscow, Russia, December 31, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Russian Railways Logistics organized delivery of 100-meter rails produced by EVRAZ Consolidated West-Siberian Metallurgical Plant (EVRAZ ZSMK) for the Moscow Metro. The first batch with 60 rails (389 tons) arrived on December, 25 at Lyublino-Sortirovochnaya station from Novokuznetsk.

Up to the present time EVRAZ ZSMK has been addressing the cargo for Russian Railways JSC only. RZD Logistics managed to provide specialized rolling stock and organized rails delivery in the shortest time. It took five days for seven inventory platforms and escort railcar to get to Moscow.

EVRAZ Consolidated West-Siberian Metallurgical Plant (EVRAZ ZSMK) is the only company in Russia and CIS (as well as the world's third largest company) producing and supplying 100-meter rails which are considered to be an innovative product. It became possible due to rail and beam shop reconstruction in 2009. Currently rail and beam shop production capacity is as high as 950 thousand tons of rail products per year.

JSC Russian Railways Logistics was founded on November 19, 2010 in the framework of logistics business development within Russian Railways Holding. Since its foundation RZD Logistics has transported over 7 mn tonnes of cargo, the number of clients exceeded 1000. The company opened 23 branches in Russia and launched three joint ventures, namely FELB, YuXinOu and EuroRailTrans in order to provide international transit service.
