Axiomtek Introduces Two COM Express Products - The CEM840 and the CEM880
The CEM880 and the CEM840, two industrial grade COM Express modules purposely designed and manufactured to offer systems integrators with a high level of flexibility and ease of customization.

These two industrial grade products are purposely designed and manufactured to offer systems integrators with a high level of flexibility and ease of customization to support the variety of needs and requirements for mission critical projects.
Among the two COM-express modules, the CEM880 offers high-end computing power, with quad-core, 4th Generation Intel® Core™ I options, QM87 chipset and a wide variety of dynamic features. This Type 6 COM Express module supports multiple I/Os including a maximum of 24 lanes of PCIe, Four high speed USB ports and four SATA-600 interfaces for additional storage. This basic-sized system on module (SoM) is ideal for applications that require high graphical and computing performance, including telecommunications, medical imaging, digital signage, gaming machines, the military and networking.
Axiomtek’s new CEM840, a COM Express Type 10 mini module, is powered by an Intel® Atom™ E3800 processor (Bay Trail). Small in size, this SoM offers optional quad-core processor and rich graphical capabilities. It is packed with a variety of useful features including an onboard 4 GB maximum DDR3L memory, wide voltage range and extended operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to +185°F). The CEM840 offers low-power consumption and can be used for portable device’s applications, e.g., IoT (Internet of Things), automation, medical, transportation, the military, security and retail.
“In conjunction with Axiomtek’s CEB94006 baseboard or user-supplied carrier board, the CEM880 module supports one PCIe x16 v3.0, eight PCIe x1 devices and up to 24 PCIe lanes to provide rich I/O options,” said Yifei Wang, product manager for Axiomtek’s Product Planning Division. “Since it integrates Intel® Generation 7.5 graphics, the CEM880 offers clear 3D video images in HD, triple view display, quick sync video and wireless display connectivity. This high performance SoM is aimed to accommodate the growing need for devices that can support high definition displays.
“The pocket sized CEM840, with the Intel® Bay Trail CPU, also offers flexibility for system integrators who require a compact-sized SoM with rich features. It offers four lanes of PCIe and multiple I/O interfaces for customization. With extremely low power consumption and 4.75V~20V DC-in wide range power input, the CEM840 is designed for a semi-customizable integration and application-specific solutions. The outstanding 7th generation Intel® HD graphics engine allows the single-chip module to deliver faster conversion of video for portable media players, online sharing and video editing and authoring.”
