Tony Award® Winner Bill T. Jones to Host "Dance from the Heart." A One Night Only Dance Experience Featuring 11 Dance Companies Benefiting Dancers Responding to AIDS

New York, NY, November 11, 2007 --(PR.com)-- On Monday, December 10, the dance worlds of Ballet, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, and Broadway will converge on the stage of Cedar Lake (527 West 26th Street, New York City) for the latest edition of "Dance from the Heart," the yearly one night only dance experience benefiting Dancers Responding to AIDS (DRA) a fundraising program of Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS.

"Dance from the Heart" will be hosted by multi award winning choreographer and dance visionary Bill T. Jones, who recently added Tony Award® for his choreography in the Broadway musical Spring Awakening to his already full mantle of accolades. This year’s edition of "Dance from the Heart" will feature a roster of eleven internationally acclaimed artists and dance companies including American Ballet Theatre, Atlanta Ballet, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, Martha Graham Dance Company, Keigwin + Company, MOMIX, Paradigm, Wendy Seyb, Shen Wei Dance Arts, Jason Samuels Smith, and members of the cast of Disney’s The Lion King on Broadway.

The program for this year’s "Dance from the Heart" will offer a mix of signature repertory dances along with several NYC and world premiere pieces. Achieving both ends is American Ballet Theatre who be presenting a double offering of their repertory dance The Leaves are Fading (performed by Stella Abrera and Sascha Radetsky) and a piece d’occasion created especially for "Dance from the Heart" by ABT soloist Craig Salstein performed by ABT principal Michelle Wiles. Making a rare NYC appearance at "Dance from the Heart" will be Atlanta Ballet performing the NYC debut of an excerpt from their full length ballet, The Great Gatsby. Modern choreographer Larry Keigwin will bring his blithe high spirits to the program with a preview of his work in progress Towel Dance. The evening will also feature a world premiere by Ray Mercer performed by the Broadway Company of Disney’s The Lion King.
