Senior U.S. Military Leaders, OSD, Industry, and Academic Leaders to Convene for 3rd Annual Unmanned Systems Summit in Alexandria, VA

On March 18-19, 2015, Defense Strategies Institute will lead a series of discussions surrounding the near term use of unmanned systems (air,land, and sea) across the U.S. Military Services. The Summit is designed to invoke the nature of a "Town Hall" forum where open debate and dialogue will occur amongst all in attendance. Actionable take-aways for all will drive the Summit.

Washington, DC, January 28, 2015 --(PR.com)-- U.S. military operations continue to highlight the value of unmanned systems in the modern combat environment. Combatant Commanders and Warfighters value the inherent features of unmanned systems, especially their persistence, versatility, and reduced risk to human life.

However, there are technical, financial and strategic challenges facing current and future platforms that need to be overcome in order to help advance today's and tomorrow's mission critical needs.

DSI's upcoming Summit allows for military users, civilian, and academia across the unmanned systems spectrum to come together to learn, discuss, debate, and help advance challenges areas within the community such as:

- Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems
- Improving on-board data processing for ISR, sense and avoid, radars and other
payloads on current platforms
- Advancing Common Control Systems (CCS)
- Opportunities to improve commonalities and interoperability across Service
platforms to increase cost savings
- MUM-T and autonomous activity
- Spectrum management
