Free Health and Social Care Workshops Day

Oswestry, United Kingdom, February 03, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Health and Social Care Department at Walford and North Shropshire College (WNSC) will be holding a free workshops day at the Oswestry Campus on Tuesday 17th February from 11am until 3pm, the workshops will give people who are interested in Health and Social Care courses and careers a valuable insight into the qualifications and roles involved.

There will be a range of specialist workshops which will give attendees the opportunity to ‘have a go’ and enhance their knowledge and skills, there will also be job opportunities with care homes and other social care organisations on offer in the Oswestry and North Shropshire area. Health and Social Care Assessor, Emma Wright, commented, "Drop by for ten minutes or stay all day, learn a new skill or several skills. those who attend can further or start your career in Health and Social Care, meet new employers and our team."

Attendees can ‘have a go’ at the several taster workshops such as taking blood sugar readings, learning about the theory and practice of blood sugar and pressure readings; diabetes awareness; fluid thickening methods; moving and handling guidance; functional skills and on-line learning. Also, find out more about joining their Distance Learning Courses, they offer a wide range including; safe handling of medication; dementia awareness; mental health awareness; equality and diversity; end of life courses and infection control. They also have new courses starting in stroke awareness and diabetes awareness.
