New Ductless Mini Split Cable Solution Being Offered by OneStopBuy

Electrical distributor OneStopBuy announced today that it would begin carrying a new cable for Ductless Mini Split HVAC applications, a solution for installers which had not previously existed.

Independence, KS, February 12, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Electrical distributor OneStopBuy announced this week that it would begin carrying a new UF-B cable variety intended for Ductless Mini Split HVAC applications. With an expanding market for these types of installations, the company is excited to be able to offer a product nationally where a quality solution had not previously existed.

"Many installations of Ductless Mini Split HVAC systems have been improperly installed over the past 6 or 7 years," explained Tim Daugherty, president of OneStopBuy. "Installers have been incorrectly using tray cable, or portable cords like SJTOW and SOOW, to install these units. The problem is that using any of these cables in walls is a direct violation of both local and national codes."

The company has made available what they are calling the "perfect solution" to this problem, one that provides a code-compliant, affordable, and easy-to-install alternative.

"We are happy to be offering this product in both 100-foot coils and 500-foot reels," said Daugherty. "The product design is similar to non-metallic, sheathed cable like UF-B, but with some key differences."

Unlike standard UF-B cable, this Ductless Mini Split cable is the only type with complete, end-to-end conductor isolation. This cable type is required for conductors that transmit both AC and DC current. It is also the only cable for this application with non-armored construction, which means there is no need to ground the armored jacket. This is something very unique to the product solution.

The Ductless Mini Split cable now being carried through OneStopBuy.com (product part number 144STRMSR) is rated for use in walls, in direct burial applications, and is sunlight-resistant as defined by article 340 of the National Electrical Code (NEC). No special tools or fittings are required, which provides the easiest installation for Ductless Mini Split jobs. The conductors are also stranded for both flexibility and current capacity. A 600V rating complies with the NFPA code since no overcurrent protection is typically provided on units.
