Spring Art Competition for Year 9 and 10 School Pupils

Oswestry, United Kingdom, February 15, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Schools across Shropshire are being invited to enter their year 9 and 10 students into an exciting New Spring Art Competition being held by Walford and North Shropshire College (WNSC).

Students are invited to create a piece of artwork entitled ‘Spring’. The artwork submitted must be 2D, up to A3 in size and can utilise a range of materials and techniques from the following list: drawing (e.g. pencil, pen, crayon, pastel etc.) painting, printmaking, collage and photography.

The competition is the perfect opportunity for students to undertake a project over the Easter holidays or as part of a class project.

Entries will be collected on a specified date from the school, once WNSC has been made of aware of student entries. The closing date for entries is the 17th April. Each piece of work entered by a school will need to be individually labelled by teachers so that artwork can be clearly identified.

Judging will take place w/c 20th April, winners will be notified shortly after and prizes will be distributed. Entries will be judged on originality and creativity demonstrated.

Prizes:
1st Prize: £50 worth of Art supplies to the school
£25 voucher to the student
2nd Prize: £25 worth of art supplies to the school
£15 voucher to the student
3rd Prize: £10 voucher to the student

WNSC’s Art Department hopes to inspire young people into picking up a paintbrush or a camera and to do something creative. WNSC offers a range of Art and Design Courses: A Levels in Fine Art, Textiles, Graphics, Photography, Diplomas in Art and Design and a new Diploma in Fashion and Clothing.
