The Official “Floor Signing” at the St. Jude Dream Home February 18th
As construction on the 2015 St. Jude Dream Home continues it is time to thank the generous businesses and volunteers who have so generously contributed to the construction and design. The floor signing event gives these unsung heroes the opportunity to put the stamp on the home by signing the home's floor. This event allows residents of the Gulf Coast to honor them for their unselfish commitment to the children of St. Jude.
Biloxi, MS, February 17, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The 2015 St. Jude Dream Home in Malpass West, Elliott Homes’ newest subdivision, is getting close to completion. The ceremonial “floor signing” will take place on Wednesday, February 18th from 3-5pm.
The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway was started by Donald Mack in 1991 to raise $50,000 to help fight childhood cancer. The response to the campaign was so successful that builders across the country now donate 34 Dream Homes a year raising almost $25 million annually to help St. Jude Children’s Hospital fight childhood cancer.
“This year’s Dream Home, valued at more than $450,000 is expected to have over $350,000 in direct donations from material vendors, volunteers and subcontractors who spend their valuable time and money on such a great cause,” explains Brandon Elliott, President of Elliott Homes LLC. “Our staff and all of the generous volunteers work extremely hard to make this home almost free to St. Jude so that all of the money received from ticket sales can go towards saving more children,” he adds.
The Dream Home would not be possible without the generous donations of materials and labor. The floor signing event is the chance for Mississippi Coast residents to pay tribute to the unsung heroes behind the construction of the Dream Home. All residents are invited to shake the hands of the “dream team” that so unselfishly contributed to this project to reach one common goal, eradicating childhood cancer.
The 2015 St. Jude Dream Home is located at 702 Champagne Drive in Biloxi, Mississippi. This family-friendly community is dedicated to all of the patients at St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Several homes are named after local patients including Caiden, Dalton and Zachary. The Dream Home is built directly across from the Dream Home Pond with a living fence and iron gates that feature the St. Jude logo.
