With the need to comply with both existing and updated standards for revenue recognition, companies are preparing to ensure that their business processes and infrastructure can be productive and compliant. In May 2014, the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) issued the new International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS 15 / ASU 2014-09, ASC 606), which specifies the accounting guidance for revenue recognition. The new standard becomes effective January 1, 2017 in countries adhering to U.S. GAAP and to IFRS. It will impact companies in every industry in countries around the world.
