New A.Vera Aromatherapy Wristwatch Launched on Indiegogo

Scented Leather Watchstraps, Luxury Timepieces and Aromatherapeutic Accessories by Master Watchmaker Ricky Tsang and Creative Director David Bychkov Available in Lavender, Bergamot, Eucalyptus and Jasmine

Alexandria, VA, March 04, 2015 --( Today a new scented leather wristwatch product line was revealed on Indiegogo, the crowdfunding website. Master watchmaker Ricky Tsang and emotion detection technologist David Bychkov launched A. Vera, a line of aromatherapeutic leather wristwatches and accessories aimed at luxury-minded customers. According to Bychkov, who is serving as Creative Director for the brand, A.Vera leathers are “soaked in aloe vera gel and essential oils ranging from bergamot and jasmine to eucalyptus and lavender. The idea is that customers can have therapeutic scents near their nose while eating, sleeping and thinking.” A.Vera timepieces feature Japanese movement, Swarovski crystals, Italian calfskin perforated leather straps.

As per the Indiegogo campaign, there are currently four scents available, two colors and three timepiece face styles available to choose from as perks. At the $199 perk level, an Indiegogo backer can expect to choose from an early adapter kit, which includes an A.Vera timepiece, a choice of straps and a 3-year timepiece/1-year scent warranty. Other perks include scented tissue, scented ink, Catherine de Medici-style scented gloves and even a companion aromatherapy coffee table book. Bychkov added that “we're trying to raise a nominal amount - $1000. The main goal of the campaign is to collect feedback from luxury timepiece and aromatherapy customers.”

After the crowdfunding launch is over in mid-April, the A.Vera team intends to make products available in limited supplies to luxury retailers in the US and Europe. Ricky Tsang, whose factory is responsible for design and assembly of the watches themselves, stated: “I have witnessed the change of watches from timepieces to fashion icons, from daily equipment to a representation of lifestyle. Watches tell you the time and time reminds you everyday that you must continue on your roadmap and make your dreams come true. “Already the campaign has garnered feedback, including the desire to see A.Vera aromatherapy straps able to be placed on smartwatches. Bychkov responded: “Certainly, A.Vera straps can be used interchangeably with whichever timepiece you already have. Regarding smartwatches, I've spent the last 11 years making watches that sense how you feel. It's nice now to work on watches that actually make you feel better. The logical next step is to make wristwatches that can do both.”
