The Readerís Guild will release notable titles from celebrated authors under the name Readerís Digest Classic Editions.

New York, NY, March 11, 2015 --(PR.com)-- The Reader’s Guild, LLC announced today the signing of a long-term, exclusive licensing agreement with Reader’s Digest Association to publish and promote the backlist of its iconic brand, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books as the Classic Editions.

Sixty-five years ago, Reader’s Digest began publishing condensed books, now known as Reader's Digest Select Editions. This partnership continues that tradition by bringing these timeless bestsellers to new audiences as Reader’s Digest Condensed Books - Classic Editions, available for the first time ever as e-books, as well as in both paperback and hardcover editions.

“It is a great privilege to align with the world-class brand Reader's Digest. We are delighted to be able to bring these distinctive condensed titles to the e-publishing age,” said Fred B. Tarter, President and CEO of The Readers Guild. “There is an entirely new group of readers who now have the opportunity to enjoy this unique and exciting library of outstanding titles.”

“Since 1950, Reader’s Digest has published hundreds of condensed titles and we are delighted to work with The Reader’s Guild to give a whole new generation of readers an opportunity to enjoy first-class condensations of award-winning titles, many of which are currently out-of-print,” said Harold Clarke, President and Publisher, Reader’s Digest Books and Home Entertainment.

Millions of readers have enjoyed these unique, expertly condensed versions of such titles as John Steinbeck’s East of Eden and Nicholas Sparks’ Message in a Bottle, along dozen of works from Lee Child, Mary Higgins Clark, Dick Francis, Sondra Brown and many more.

The new Reader's Digest Condensed Books - Classic Editions will be released in all publishing formats including full e-books (on multiple platforms), Kindle Singles, paperback, trade paperback and hardcover editions.
