Oak Hill, WV, March 19, 2015 --(PR.com
)-- This April, take a study break and hit the (white) Water! College students are invited to join River Expeditions for a weekend full of rafting, BBQ, and camping with friends new and old. The dates for 2015 are the weekends of April 11th, 18th, and 25th. This all inclusive weekend includes whitewater rafting, a BBQ cookout, 2 nights of camping, and a daily lite breakfast. The fun continues into the evening at The Red Dog River Saloon onsite at River Expeditions’ Adventure Resort and will feature complimentary beverages, live music, games, and new people!
In the spring, the New River Gorge is home to one of the largest Class V whitewater rivers in North America. Rafting in the springtime is particularly exciting because higher water levels lead to more intense rapids. If strong rapids are not your thing, fear not, as an alternative path full of tranquil pools and swimming areas is also available. White water rafting is not only exciting way to get outdoors, it is also great for exercise and stress relief.
River Expeditions offers daily rafting trips on the New and Gauley rivers from April until October. Whitewater rafting consists of navigating a stretch of water in an inflatable raft. Other water vessels, such as kayaks, are also available on some routes. Trips generally last about 5-7 hours, including a break for a waterside lunch. The ability to swim is helpful, but not necessary. Guests are equipped with all necessary safety equipment – a Coast Guard approved Type V life jacket, paddle, and helmet.
“Extreme College Weekends are an exciting way to get away from school for the weekend and get rid of some winter cobwebs,” says River Expeditions Owner, Rick Johnson. “We believe that our inclusive pricing specials are a great way for students to hit the water without breaking the budget or running into surprise costs.”
Parents have the option to send their students one of our “Rafting Care Packages” in the form of a gift certificate that can be used for customizing a rafting getaway. River Expeditions is located within driving distance of many universities in West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Washington DC and Maryland.
