Peptineo Announces Appointment of Dr. Panganiban to Peptineo to Serve as Chief Science Officer

Albuquerque, NM, March 20, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Peptineo is pleased to announce that Nito Panganiban, Ph.D., has been named Chief Science Officer at Peptineo. Dr. Panganiban will be responsible for cultivating core research capabilities, establishing product development roadmaps, and for communicating with key scientific and customer communities with regard to commercial offerings. “Dr. Panganiban will be a key asset in helping us to shape our efforts for infectious disease and related clinical pursuits,” noted Dr. Sheldon K. Jordan, President and CEO. Dr. Panganiban is Professor and Interim Chair of the Division of Microbiology at the Tulane National Primate Research Center. He is also a Professor in the Microbiology Department at the Tulane University School of Medicine, and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Tropical Medicine at Tulane. Dr. Panganiban is an expert on emerging pathogens, RNA viruses, virus-host interaction, and viral countermeasures. Current work in his lab centers on bunyavirus replication and pathogenesis. Past work includes identification of key facets of hantavirus and HIV replication. In addition to his academic research he has served on numerous NIH, and additional national committees and panels, and has served as a consultant for biotech and multi-investigator consortia. He was previously a Professor at the McArdle Lab for Cancer Research at the University of Wisconsin and the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. “We are pleased to have him join our organization,” noted Dr. Jordan.
